You're Beary Sweet (teacher appreciation gifts)

Hello blogosphere, this week as you probably know by now is teacher appreciation week. Well I dint know it at first until I walked into my sons school Head Start early Monday morning only to see a well placed very large "take a hint banner" that read TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK.

so then my little tinker started its creative tinkering, what would I make for Kimahri's teachers, it had to be something fast, over the top, and duplicate-able (word of the day), because my son has a lot of teacher. You're probably thinking well how many teachers does he have? let me first start by defining what a teacher is at the Simon house.

Kimahri's Teacher (Simons) definition

A teacher is any individual that takes a stake and or part in educating someone, by not only instructing them on core curriculum or applications such as a traditional teacher, but any one that takes time out to have a personal individualized relationship with you

When I worked preschool parents would bring gifts solely for the teacher, leaving the aides without, when were with their children all day from 6 am to 6 pm. I was a credentialed teacher but worked as an aide because of lack of teacher position, so it kind of hurt when parents didn't appreciate the hard work that we all put in as a team to educate their well rounded child.

Blah blah blah with that being said I wasn't going to be that parent. Teacher or staff that took time out of their normal daily routine to have a personal relationship with my son was getting a gift. this list included:

Director, and Assistant Director
front desk lady
my sons teacher and both aides
the noon duties on the playground
his morning class teachers
his old home base teacher (which works at the same school he attends)
my fav teacher Ms Maggie ( I was her aide)
and my son and daughters 4 daycare providers
Oh and Ms Melissa from room 2 ( because I wuuuub her and she acts like my son is in her class even though he's not)

There's so many Noon duties that I really didn't know how many gifts I needed do I made 24 and I'm hoping that, that will cover everybody (finger crossed)

I used cricut lite teddy bear parade, the doily I had cut along time ago from an old project. I don't know where I got them from.
also used
Pint size mason jars
brown hemp
standard size cupcake wrappers ( I used 2 per jar and off set them to give a fuller look)
dried: cranberries, bananas, mangos.
white chocolate chips
White chocolate pretzels
granola ( nut free)

Sweet Pea Southern Baby

Howdy do there and good morning. Here is a single card that I did for one of my favorite repeat customers. she had a friend who delivered early and the baby had to stay in the hospital, she delivered so early that she missed her own baby shower, so she wanted a special card for the new mom to be.

 

This is what I came up with, the little girls name is Kailee, this card took me sometime to get right because its using the frame from cricut accents which I only have my E2 so it took sometime to get everything right. Only because I couldn't manipulate the images the way I wanted to like on my gypsy.

• Squiggly vines is from Cindy loo

I ended up loving this card so much that I didn't even want to give it up, but sadly I had to.... shed a tear form me.

Tinkerbell and friends Name banner

My son had a Tinkerbell party to attend, and this is the gift that we gave the little girl.

(sorry about the botched pictures, I don't know why they look so bad on here)

The fair is supposed to look like the little girl, its a cardboard backed name banner. this is an eco friendly name banner I reused the boxes from my families cookies cereals and crackers to make the banner sturdier. I mixed a couple of different pieces from the cricut create a friend cartridge and the wings I think are from once upon a princess. The eyes are from a cut off Cindy loo I used my gypsy to erase the other unneeded  pieces leaving just the eye lashes.

Luau Gender Reveal Turtle Baby Shower Invitations

I had the please to do a gender reveal invitation recently, I had loads of fun. the theme for the shower is a luau, with the primary symbol being a turtle. making a gender neutral turtle posed a little challenge, but of course I over came those crafty road blocks.

Crooms Catering and BBQ Colaboration

The other day I was introduced to Robin over at Croom's catering, She was impressed with my work and offered me an opportunity to have some of my cards showed at her restaurant.

So I wanted to come up with some special custom pieces for her store. One of the cards I made is custom for Crooms, but its a repeat for me. I made several unintentional adaptations (really its just that I didn't have this designed in my gypsy, so I recreated it from scratch and when I cut it, some of the cuts came out lager than I had expected.... so I had to change a few thing. the blew was and still is my fav. I left a spot open for my friend to add her sentiments, because she was giving these to a few of her good friends
